Job Overview As a Sous Chef at the Jonathan Town Club, this position will be responsible for supporting the Catering Chef in planning, organizing, and directing the work of the catering culinary team. Please note this is a seasonal position.
Responsibilities
Master the Banquet Event Order as the point person for all events.
Coordinate daily tasks with the Catering Chef based on BEO and event schedules.
Supervise daily operations and tasks of the catering kitchen team.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, to provide clear direction.
Maintain equipment in proper operating condition and cleanliness; document monthly on the Jonathan Club Monthly Self Checklist.
Ensure recipes, menu specifications, and plating standards are current and communicated to the team.
Ensure all staff prepares menu items following recipes in accordance with Jonathan Club standards.
Maintain member satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis.
Assist the Catering Chef in food tastings for potential event clients, including presentation and documentation.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Follow proper handling and correct temperature of all food products.
Participate in staff training.
Monitor performance of the catering kitchen team and ensure all procedures are completed in a timely manner.
Identify developmental needs of the culinary team and provide mentoring to improve knowledge and skills.
Set an example for the team in following kitchen guidelines on all matters.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience cooking in a well-established restaurant or full-service hotel.
Flexible working hours subject to business demands.
Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
Salary Salary Rate: $69,000/year.
