Key Responsibilities
Supervises housekeeping and laundry staff: hiring, terminating, performance evaluations, training and development.
Assists the General Manager in developing the department's annual budget and monitors performance against the plan.
Establishes and maintains cost control systems for staffing, inventories (linen, terry, OS&E and cleaning supplies).
Enforces policies and procedures to enhance guest relations and ensure quality services.
Schedules staff according to labor standards and forecast business levels.
Prepares daily assignment sheets for all housekeeping and laundry associates.
Maintains cleanliness quality based on hotel objectives and monitors cleanliness in event areas, storage, restrooms and public areas.
Compiles and reports accurate status of "the house" to the front desk department.
Co‑ordinates with Security Office for standard procedures on lost and found items and rented equipment.
Maintains productivity and labor cost goals and conducts formal inventories with finance.
Orders and receives supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
Inspects vacant rooms, public spaces, storage and rest areas each day.
Maintains departmental key control, deep cleaning program and acts as Manager on Duty as required.
Conducts monthly department meetings and attends weekly staff meetings.
Completes projects as determined by the General Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
High School Graduate or GED (or equivalent).
Computer skills required; familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred; hotel systems experience preferred.
Minimum 2 years as assistant executive housekeeper or supervisor.
Previous guest/customer relations training preferred.
Good understanding of and communication skills in English.
Ability to lift/transport up to 50 pounds, push/pull carts up to 250 pounds and perform sustained physical activity.
Willingness to work varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to stand and move in a paceable manner for up to 8 hours.
Work Environment Guest rooms, corridors, and housekeeping office; variable temperature, noise, fumes, dust, chemical hazards, and biohazards.
Compensation Salary: $55,000 – $60,000 per year.
