Description of Position

Northeastern State University invites applications for a 9-month Instructor position in Speech-Language Pathology for the Master's Degree Program in the Gregg Wadley College of Science and Health Professions. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise clinical practicum in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. Other responsibilities will include scholarship, evaluation, university and professional service, and other assigned duties.

While this position will be based on the Muskogee campus, teaching/supervision responsibilities may extend to the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses as needed.

Faculty teaching may include distance-based courses, including hybrid and fully online classes.

Responsibilities

Specific duties will include the following: • Teach courses in SLP Program (undergraduate). • Supervise in SLP Clinic as needed • Advise students • Demonstrate scholarly activities (teaching, discovery, integration, and/or application) • Participate in program, department, college, university & professional service

Experience

The ideal candidate should possess a strong record as a speech-language pathologist.

The following credentials should also be met: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology (CCP-SLP) Higher education experience preferred A minimum of three (3) years clinical practice as a speech and language therapist with a demonstrated knowledge of current professional practice and service delivery domains; Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the State of Oklahoma Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, work collaboratively in teams, interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, faculty and students as well as external constituencies, and provide visionary leadership for ths academic program A record of personal integrity and a demonstrated commitment to the Mission of the University is essential

Education Requirements

Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology CCC-SLP and eligibility for Oklahoma state license required.

Salary for 9-month Instructor position is $69,940.00 including excellent benefits.

College/Department Statement

The SLP program is housed in the Department of Health Professions in the Gregg Wadley College of Science and Health Professions and has 60-80 undergraduate students and 50-60 graduate students with six full-time faculty members. The Department of Health Professions includes programs in Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing, Nutritional Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, and Public Health. The Gregg Wadley College of Science and Health Professions also includes the departments of Biological Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, and Physical Sciences. The main NSU campus is located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, with branch campuses in Muskogee (30 miles from Tahlequah) and Broken Arrow (a Tulsa suburb; 60 miles from Tahlequah). Courses are offered on the Muskogee campus with clinics on all three campuses. The area offers a wide range of outdoor activities with the amenities of a big city a short drive away.
