Responsibilities
Grow your client base by making new connections, maintaining a strong referral network, and providing a great client experience.
Build personalized, holistic financial plans tailored to every client’s unique needs.
Manage each client’s financial plan to help them achieve their goals.
Grow relationships with clients to support them through every stage of life.
Training, Licensing & Designations Northwestern Mutual maintains a highly trained sales force. Through an award‑winning curriculum, you receive training for your first three years in the business, including client acquisition strategies, longevity of career, and mentorship from tenured advisors. Required licenses include Life/Accident & Health Certifications, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 6, Series 7, and Series 63. Northwestern Mutual provides pre‑payment and/or reimbursement for course tuition and books.
Compensation & Benefits
Performance‑based earnings and revenue structure.
Average advisor annual earnings: $61 K–$119 K (for representatives in the first three years).
Top 25% advisor annual earnings: $137 K–$250 K (for top quartile advisors in the first three years).
Additional income structure to support training and early development.
Renewal income earned for continued client support and policy management.
Bonus programs and expense allowances.
Support for insurance licensing and securities exams.
Certified Financial Planner® licensing support.
Fully company‑funded retirement package and pension plan.

Qualifications
