The Westin Westminster is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our Front Office team. This overnight role combines guest service with financial auditing to ensure a seamless end‑of‑day process. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to late‑night and early‑morning guests while balancing the hotel’s daily financial transactions in accordance with Marriott and Columbia Sussex standards.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk Operations: greet and assist guests with check‑ins, check‑outs, and room assignments.
Handle reservations, cancellations, and room changes accurately using the Marriott property management system (MARSHA/LSPMS).
Answer phones, respond to guest requests, and resolve concerns promptly and professionally—utilizing GXP to log all guest requests and follow up to ensure completion.
Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
Monitor property security and maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere during overnight hours.
Night Audit Duties: balance and reconcile daily hotel revenue from rooms, food & beverage outlets, and other departments.
Verify and post room charges, taxes, and adjustments to ensure accurate end‑of‑day accounting.
Post raking and other revenue to the appropriate accounts in accordance with Marriott financial procedures.
Prepare daily management reports, including revenue, occupancy, and financial summaries.
Audit and reconcile all cashier reports and payment methods, ensuring proper documentation.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in guest or departmental accounts.
Perform system backups and close the business day following Marriott standards.
Qualifications
Previous hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred; hospitality accounting knowledge a plus.
Familiarity with hotel property management systems (MARSHA, LSPMS, or similar) strongly desired.
Strong math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Ability to work overnight shifts (typically 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including weekends and holidays.
Dependable, professional, and self‑motivated to work independently during overnight hours.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic accounting procedures.
