Accounts Payable Specialist
The Accounts Payable Associate will support the Accounting Department and process invoices for payment. This role collaborates with Accounts Payable Staff and plant personnel, purchasing, accounting, credit, and transportation teams.
Responsibilities
Review emails, print invoices, and respond to all requests.
Key vouchers for payment – standard and voucher match.
Keep invoice hold log up to date and communicate with site personnel on approval/receipt status in JD Edwards.
Ensure vendor information is current in JD Edwards; request new vendor setup as needed.
Review vendor statements and communicate with vendors for invoice requests.
Respond to vendor inquiries about payment status or other required information.
Maintain contact with site locations to support timely invoice processing and issue resolution.
Scan paid invoice batches into AP file folders.
Assist with month‑end accrual preparation.
Execute weekly payment runs (check, ACH, wires).
Track and apply credits owed to the company on vendor payments.
Reconcile payable reports each month to confirm accurate payments.
Monitor vendor payment agreements for discounts that reduce invoice amounts.
Reconcile vendor statements.
Participate in special projects as requested.
Qualifications
3+ years of accounting or accounts payable experience preferred.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when keying numbers.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Strong team orientation to interact effectively with the organization.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with integrated accounting systems (JD Edwards, SAP, etc.) a plus.
Position may be offered at different levels based on education and experience; salary will adjust accordingly.
