THE ROLE We are currently seeking a dynamic Parking Lane Ambassador for the Greater Columbus Convention Center. As a Lane Ambassador you will play a vital role in daily operations, assisting with transactions (limited cash) and ensuring a seamless parking experience for our guests.
Current shifts are between 3 pm and midnight, except on Friday and Saturday when we close at 3 am. Reliable transportation to and from work that provides this availability is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to clearly read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
Handle payments from parking customers, verify amounts due, provide change, issue receipts, deposit payments securely, and reconcile sales with automated counters.
Maintain meticulous daily reports related to parking transactions.
Document and elevate customer complaints to the appropriate supervisor for resolution.
Report any unusual incidents, accidents, or suspicious individuals, including license plate and vehicle descriptions.
Complete maintenance and cleaning tasks outlined in checklists, ensuring the facility remains free of dirt, dust, litter, and debris.
Report and address burnt‑out light bulbs and equipment malfunctions.
Adhere to OSHA rules and regulations.
Assist team in clearing snow from entrances and exit ramps as directed.
Maintain a tidy and organized workstation and a neat professional appearance.
Assist parking patrons on GCCC property with inquiries and information about campus activities.
Initiate contact with guests within 10 feet, radiating positivity.
Interact comfortably with large groups or individual guest needs.
Sustain exceptional customer service, recognizing “The Magic is in the Details.”
Perform any other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Strong numerical aptitude and the ability to communicate diplomatically with patrons, supervisors, managers, and directors on GCCC property.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent standing, walking, or talking; standing extended periods during rotating shifts.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, heat, rain, and cold.
