Immediate Opening: Project Lead the Way Aerospace Engineering Teacher Frederick County Public Schools

The Frederick County Career & Technology Center is seeking applicants for the Project Lead the Way Aerospace Engineering Teacher position. This position is available effective January 1, 2026. Visit the program web page to learn about the Aerospace Engineering Program.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teaches various PLTW courses, providing hands‑on learning experiences, and prepares students for careers and further education in engineering and technology.

Provides instruction for the following high‑school courses: Introduction to Engineering Design (IED), Principles of Engineering (PoE), Aerospace Engineering (AE), and Engineering Design and Development (EDD).

Teaching responsibilities include ensuring students gain hands‑on experience with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD), robotics, automation, digital circuits, and engineering principles. Guides students in problem‑solving, critical thinking, and engineering design processes through real‑world applications, maintains and manages lab equipment, and collaborates with colleagues, industry professionals, and mentors to enhance student learning and career readiness.

Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of engineering to everyday existence and problem‑solving.

Continues to acquire professional knowledge and stay current with developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or conducting research.
