Overview Dexian is recruiting for a client seeking a
hands‑on SQL Database Administrator/Developer
to optimize and modernize SQL Server environments as part of a
database merge and upgrade to SQL Server 2022 . This role blends administration, performance tuning, and development – ideal for someone who thrives in a small, fast‑moving technical team.
What You’ll Do
Review and optimize SQL Server environments (2019+).
Analyze and document stored procedures, indexes, and performance bottlenecks.
Lead a database merge and migration to SQL Server 2022.
Collaborate with developers and DevOps on automation and CI/CD integration.
Build a project plan outlining improvements, fixes, and recommendations.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of SQL Server DBA/Developer experience.
Strong in T‑SQL, performance tuning, and stored procedure optimization.
Experience with AWS (RDS/EC2) and CI/CD tools like CodeBuild or Bitbucket.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Based in Houston or within easy driving distance for onsite collaboration.
