Overview We are seeking a Lead QA Accessibility Tester to lead a dynamic team. This role combines hands‑on testing expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and delivering inclusive digital experiences.
Key Lead the QA accessibility testing function and drive organizational maturity.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of QA testers focused on accessibility compliance across Verizon's digital platforms.
Collaborate closely with the QA Manager to define testing strategies, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery.
Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing using tools such as Axe, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and others.
Review and validate WCAG 2.1/2.2 compliance across web and mobile applications.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior testers, fostering a culture of quality and inclusion.
Document findings, create detailed reports, and communicate results to development and design teams.
Stay current with evolving accessibility standards and best practices.
Requirements
Proven experience in accessibility testing and QA leadership.
Strong understanding of WCAG guidelines, ADA compliance, and Section 508.
Familiarity with assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work onsite in NYC 3 days per week and remotely from anywhere in the U.S. the remaining days.
Preferred Qualifications
IAAP CPACC or WAS certification.
Experience working in telecom or enterprise environments.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
