We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Data Service Engineer Lead to spearhead the development, optimization, and management of our data pipelines. This role involves designing scalable and reliable batch and real‑time data solutions utilizing cutting‑edge technologies such as Kafka, Snowflake, and Python. Candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure end‑to‑end data delivery, support peer teams, and drive continuous improvement in our data architecture.
Responsibilities
Lead the development, deployment, and ongoing optimization of scalable batch and real‑time data pipelines.
Architect and implement data integration, streaming, and analytics solutions using Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and related technologies.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support delivery across the end‑to‑end data lifecycle.
Analyze technical performance issues and recommend tuning and optimization solutions.
Design and maintain our Reference Data System, leveraging modern data technologies (Kafka, Snowflake, Python).
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Evaluate emerging data processing tools and frameworks to recommend improvements.
Ensure data pipelines are resilient, scalable, and performant, aligned with best practices and compliance standards.
Requirements
Proven experience designing and maintaining data pipelines using Kafka, Snowflake, and Python.
Strong understanding of distributed data processing and streaming architectures.
Hands‑on experience with Snowflake data warehouse platform: data loading, performance tuning, and management.
Proficiency in Python scripting for data manipulation, automation, and pipeline development.
Familiarity with Kafka ecosystem components such as Confluent, Kafka Connect, and Kafka Streams.
Solid SQL skills, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and tune data pipelines for performance.
Domain Knowledge
Trade Processing, Settlement, Reconciliation, and related back/middle‑office functions within equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX markets.
Understanding of trade lifecycle events, order types, allocation rules, and settlement processes.
Familiarity with funding support, planning & analysis, and regulatory reporting & compliance.
Awareness of regulatory standards (e.g., Dodd‑Frank, EMIR, MiFID II) related to trade reporting and lifecycle management.
