Amazon Web Services (AWS)
is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This dedicated group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports AWS, ensuring that the data center's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems operate at 100% availability while providing first‑class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in‑depth analyses and provide solutions to enhance Water Utilization Efficiency (WUE) for a specific area.
Develop and implement solutions to enhance the Legionella program for a designated area.
Ensure compliance with regulations and permit requirements set by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ), local government municipalities, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for the assigned area’s infrastructure.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert for water infrastructure equipment, including ultrafiltration systems, reverse osmosis systems, and oxidant systems.
Oversee preventative maintenance and spare parts management for the assigned area.
Properly conduct water sampling activities.
Engage and coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Collaborate with supporting teams such as Field Engineering, Design Engineering, Environmental, Legal, and Regional Water team.
Operate around evaporative cooling ponds in the summer months for water sampling, remediation, and repair work.
Physical Requirements
Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds independently.
Participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
Maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.
Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push and pull objects into position.
Work in an environment requiring provided ear protection.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of vendor management experience.
4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment.
5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
5+ years of Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in vendor management.
Experience in a data center or other critical environment.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of construction or project management experience.
Electrical or mechanical Journeyman license.
Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent.
