Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Jr. Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our organization’s database systems. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, supporting critical business operations and data‑driven initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of database technologies, strong problem‑solving abilities, and a proactive approach to database management.

Job Duties

Database installation, configuration, and upgrade of database software (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and related tools.

Performance tuning and optimization of database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and schema design adjustments.

Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures, conduct regular recovery tests.

Implement and enforce database security policies: access control, encryption, auditing.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues; provide expert support to development teams and end‑users.

Perform routine maintenance: patching, space management, integrity checks, monitoring tools and alerts.

Implement and manage replication, clustering, and other high‑availability solutions.

Conduct capacity planning to ensure sufficient resources for future growth.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Collaborate closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.

Experience: 5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, managing SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL in production environments.

Technical Skills

Strong expertise with DBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.

Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.

Experience with backup and recovery tools and strategies.

Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices.

Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

Knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning tools.
