Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site role for an Accounting AR Specialist based in Itasca, IL. The Accounting AR Specialist will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, including invoicing, debt collection, and financial analysis. The role includes monitoring customer accounts, reconciling discrepancies, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve payment issues. The specialist will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring the smooth operation of the AR processes. In addition, this role will have the opportunity to embrace automation and further expand duties into general accounting as the company continues its rapid growth in both the Retail and Amusement industries.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and distribute customer invoices for products and services.
Maintain accurate A/R records.
Monitor customer account balances and follow up on outstanding payments.
Communicate with customers regarding their accounts, responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
Initiate corrective actions for billing discrepancies and credit memo concerns.
Conduct collection activities, including follow‑up calls and recommending escalation when necessary.
Collaborate with sales and management to assess customer credit and establish appropriate credit limits.
Prepare and submit weekly revenue share reports for our Canadian business operations.
Summarize cash, debit and credit card deposit information from retail locations across the U.S.
Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities.
Support general accounting and finance functions and documentation of processes.
Work with team to support quarter‑end activities and ad hoc reporting needs.
Provide documentation and support during audits or internal reviews.
Prepare regular reports and assist with special projects as requested by management.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support department goals.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Finance and Analytical Skills to support accounts receivable tasks.
Excellent Communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams.
Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and financial records.
Proficiency in relevant accounting software or tools is a plus.
Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience in AR or a similar role is advantageous.
