Key Responsibilities

Origination responsibilities include, but are not limited to: development and management of the CRE loan origination pipeline; responsibility and oversight of preliminary credit review, including assembly and submission of information required for loan evaluation, approval, and processing by Credit department; active bidding and negotiation with counterparties for the most attractive loan opportunities based upon initial credit assessment and risk/return objectives; overseeing and directly participating in the drafting, negotiating and execution of term sheets/LOIs associated with new loans; oversight and orchestration of the legal documentation, closing and portfolio management process for new loan originations; on-going involvement in the portfolio management and any related asset management requirements through loan repayment.

Manages performance of team of originators through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation and development of team.

Targets financing of property acquisitions or refinancing of assets with core-plus or value-add business plans requiring structured senior debt to support the enhancement of the underlying property value over an intermediate term investment period.

Utilizes experience, established property and market insights and knowledge to assess transaction/investment risk. Draws upon deep expertise to mitigate credit risk through loan structure and credit enhancement strategies. Manages risk to meet EverBank credit policies and risk tolerance.

Actively markets and targets a broad spectrum of origination sources including financial advisors, intermediaries, mortgage brokers and direct owner/developer/sponsors. Seeks-out sophisticated owner/developers with financial wherewithal and performance track record.

Focuses on direct relationships with owner/developer/sponsors. Acts as primary lead and point of contact for institutional clients.

Actively markets the Bank and the Bank product(s) to the real estate market including conference attendance and participation. Develops Bank brand awareness and understanding in the CRE sector. Builds goodwill and franchise value.

Works collaboratively with corporate credit team members. Fosters environment of support, trust and managed growth to allow for optimal execution of the originations business - balanced with the Bank’s guiding credit principals and discipline.

Develops researched and thoughtful market perspective on industry trends. Shares view of current and projected market conditions to help refine CRE Lending strategy and optimize the execution of the strategy.

Assists with new CRE product development, utilizing competitive analysis and market knowledge to recommend potential product adjustments or new product recommendations. Monitors competitors and peer organizations to stay abreast of emerging trends in the industry, and uses this information to secure the competitive position of the Bank.

Minimum Qualifications

8 years of commercial real estate originations experience

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of commercial real estate originations experience

Prior leadership experience managing a team of originators

Educational Requirements

University (Degree) Preferred
