Summary The Member Service Representative I (Credit Union Teller) role is responsible for providing world‑class member experience to both credit union members and co‑workers. This role performs a broad variety of transactional duties to serve members promptly and professionally while representing the credit union in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner with a high degree of accuracy.

Essential Functions

Greet and interact with members in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a world‑class member experience during every interaction.

Provide prompt, accurate, and efficient service for account inquiries, updates, troubleshooting, and transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, and more.

Perform additional duties such as working in a drive‑up station, opening and closing the branch, disarming/arming alarms, processing night drop or mail envelopes, assisting with ATM or ITM servicing and maintenance, check scanning, and ensuring the MSR station is stocked, organized, and clean.

Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) obligations.

Maintain up‑to‑date, comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services, proactively identify, promote, explain, and cross‑sell these offerings.

Balance a cash drawer at shift end, reconcile cash and checks using reports and balance sheets, investigate discrepancies, and report findings to the Member Service Supervisor or AVP/Branch Manager promptly.

Establish and maintain effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management; keep leadership informed of significant events or concerns.

Maintain reliable, predictable attendance.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

Cash handling experience required.

Previous experience in a financial institution, retail, or customer service role preferred.

Skills

Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Problem‑solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in basic math and computer applications.

High level of integrity and professionalism.

Physical Requirements

Stand for extended periods; work primarily at a workstation or desk in an open office environment.

Perform extensive computer use, including keyboard functions and repetitive motion.

Occasional light lifting/carrying of bags of coin up to 50 lbs.
