A leading multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Project Structural Engineer to join its growing Philadelphia-based team. With a strong reputation for delivering innovative and high-impact infrastructure and facility solutions, this organization is looking for a structural engineering professional to manage a diverse portfolio of design, renovation, and inspection projects across a range of sectors including commercial, institutional, public-sector, and industrial facilities.
This full-time role offers the opportunity to lead project efforts from concept through construction while collaborating with other talented engineers, architects, and clients to shape the built environment across the Mid-Atlantic region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform structural design and analysis for new construction, adaptive reuse, and renovation projects.
- Execute detailed calculations and create construction drawings using materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and cold-formed metal framing.
- Design structural systems for both low-rise and high-rise buildings across multiple markets.
- Conduct on-site assessments, condition evaluations, and field inspections; produce detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Develop and utilize finite element models for analyzing complex structures.
- Collaborate directly with clients to maintain strong working relationships and deliver tailored engineering solutions.
- Contribute to team development and knowledge sharing while mentoring junior engineers.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and standards across all phases of the project lifecycle.
Job Requirements
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and project coordination.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of Pennsylvania or ability to obtain promptly.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software, such as RAM Structural System, STAAD, ENERCALC, and Mathcad.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams and managing client relationships.
- Strong background in structural systems for complex buildings and renovation work.
- Familiarity with field inspection practices and developing condition assessment reports.
- Skilled in engineering software and drafting tools, with preferred experience in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively to team goals.
