Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at submission)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
BLS certification required
Proficiency with Epic charting system
Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry/EKGs
Experience with IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy care, wound care, and wound vac
No local candidates within 75 miles (travel nursing requirement)
First-time travel nurses welcome
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
Float to other Med/Surg units, ED boarders, and ICU for stable patients as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including PCTs, phlebotomy, and respiratory therapy
Monitor and interpret telemetry/EKGs; manage dysrhythmias
Administer medications and manage IV protocols
Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, and manage feeding tubes
Document all patient care in Epic EMR system
Complete unit orientation and required modules prior to start
