General Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of duties to support Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control Department to assure on-time shipments, deliveries and accuracies to continued process improvement and cost reduction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping:
Determine method of transportation for all shipments using knowledge of shipping procedures, routing requirements, and classifications of products per customer.
Prepare documents such as bills of lading, shipping orders for routing and gathering export commercials.
Create shipping documentation including bills of lading and shipping labels to prepare shipments.
Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements for pickup and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
Process vendor returns
File freight claims on shortages/damages
Load/unload trailers
Receiving:
Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming shipment.
Record shipment data, such as weight, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, claims or recordkeeping purposes.
Confer or correspond with establishment representatives and internal colleagues to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
Maintains shipment files, issues reports, and responds to customer inquiries regarding status of shipments and deliveries.
Inventory Control:
Assist with inventory discrepancies during order picking process.
Perform Inventory transactions between internal company departments.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
1 to 3 years of relevant experience and/or training in a Logistics and/or high volume distribution environment
Must have knowledge and experience working with business systems (i.e. ERP, MRP, WMS) and/or have the ability to quickly learn new software systems as needed.
Sound computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent mathematical skills required
Ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision
Must be able to drive a forklift or be able to be certified
High School diploma or GED required
Employment with Umarex USA is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
