We are seeking an experienced RN with a strong background in Orthopedics for a 13-week travel nursing assignment on our 5 General Orthopedics Unit. Patient Ratio:
5-6:1 (may flex to 7:1 in rare cases)
Float Requirement:
May float to other Med/Surg units as needed
Estimated Weekly Salary:
$1660 - $1700
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at start)
Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience, including Orthopedic nursing
EPIC charting experience (required)
BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications (required)
ACLS certification (preferred)
Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry administration, and management of orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients
First-time travel nurses accepted with EPIC experience
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical patients
Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage pain protocols, and administer pain medications
Start and maintain IVs, administer blood products, and manage surgical drains
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
Float to other Med/Surg units within the hospital as needed
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic medical records
Provide excellent patient-centered care and customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment
Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions
