Job Summary

The Enrollment Systems Applications Administrator within the Enrollment Systems and Analytics department of Enrollment Management is primarily responsible for managing various information technologies and building out new or modified operations for enrollment management departments and interdepartmental integrations by supporting engineering and administering end-user software and systems. A key focus of this position is the

administration, enhancement, and optimization of Slate , the university's campus-wide admissions system.

The Enrollment Systems Applications Administrator will work with key business leaders and other technical staff to configure, maintain, and support enterprise-wide integrations and system functionality, particularly as they relate to

Slate and its connection to other institutional systems .

This position will lead and/or collaborate on the management, administration, and deployment of the campus admissions system (currently

Slate ) and, as needed, the financial aid systems (currently Slate/ProSam). These systems are utilized by three campus admissions units: the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Graduate & Part-time Enrollment Services, and NTID Admissions, and by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

The position manages, maintains, and supports technology development for admissions and financial aid operations to support RIT's brand, assist with student recruitment, retention, and selection efforts aligned with Institute-established enrollment goals, and aid in the administration and distribution of millions of dollars in institutional student financial aid. This role also focuses on managing databases and secure system integrations between the enrollment systems, particularly

Slate,

the campus Student Information System (SIS, PeopleSoft), and the university document imaging solution (OnBase). It provides ongoing support for enhancements and upgrades related to student enrollment systems.

The Enrollment Systems Applications Administrator will work with key business leaders and other technical staff to configure, maintain, and support enterprise-wide integrations and system functionality, particularly as they relate to

Slate and its connection to other institutional systems .

Job Responsibilities

Performs software enhancements, maintenance, system testing, and configurations necessary to ensure secure and reliable business workflow in the system environment, primarily within Slate, the university's admissions CRM, throughout the admission and financial aid cycle from prospect to enrollment (current student population included). With knowledge of university priorities and strategic objectives, formulates strategies to enhance systems to support end users and enable departments to perform more efficiently.

In collaboration with the three campus admissions units and/or financial aid, works to streamline and improve processes that impact prospective and current students as well as internal staff. Performs impact analysis and priority assessments of proposed changes to determine the effect locally within the impacted unit and downstream. Implements and documents new system solutions and initiatives. Determines the need for local modifications to software when delivered functionality does not meet institutional needs. Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves complex admissions and financial aid systems issues, with a focus on Slate and the campus Student Information System (SIS).

Executes system testing, scriptwriting, and regression testing. Develops software components and solutions that adhere to development standards and are accurate, efficient, and maintainable. Creates, troubleshoots, and maintains support documentation for department users. Works closely with functional units to develop and administer training for admissions and financial aid staff on new processes, particularly those supported in Slate.

Works and consults with other campus partners such as ITS, Development and Alumni Relations, Student Financial Services, Registrar, Housing, and Student Life on the requirements and implementation of admissions and financial aid data interfaces to ensure accurate and secure import and export of confidential data, standardization, and efficient flow of information. Ensures that all data is shared appropriately to support critical enrollment and retention goals, as well as compliance with Institute, federal, and state regulations.

Serves as security administrator for all software and systems access for admissions and financial aid staff and many campus constituents. In financial aid systems, interprets and applies federal FERPA regulations to determine appropriate access levels. Manages and audits SIS student records security roles and consults with admissions and financial aid units in the implementation of their system and SIS security roles. Coordinates the implementation of security roles within enrollment systems, particularly Slate, and with ITS.

Education/Experience

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems OR an equivalent combination of education and experience 2-4+ years of relevant experience or the equivalent Demonstrate general knowledge of higher education enrollment management

Skills

Systems experience with implementation/management enrollment management systems like Slate, ProSAM, PeopleSoft SIS, programming and data structure, information technology security. Ability to track multiple projects, set priorities, and must have the ability to exercise good judgment while working collegially in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of system integration and user acceptance testing Experience in conducting analysis and providing recommendations to advance business requirements Knowledge of techniques for integration with complex systems (current system is Technolutions' Slate and PeopleSoft's Campus Solutions and ProSam); Working knowledge of computer operating systems. Ability to quickly learn and use new technology Knowledge of SQL, query development, application engine, component interfaces Familiarity with configuration maintenance Knowledge of technical development practices and standards and software customization, extensions, modifications, localizations and interfaces experience Ability to gather and understand user requirements and translate into design Ability to effectively communicate with end users and team members Problem-solving skills and resourcefulness. Great organizational and interpersonal skills with meticulous attention to detail Ability to clearly and effectively convey complex information to individuals or groups of people of varying experience levels. Strong communications skills, both spoken and written; Willingness to work in and support a collaborative team environment Proven soft skills, impeccable work ethic, and an understanding of both technology and higher education Must work independently with minimal supervision and exercise professional judgment in carrying out all assigned responsibilities. Must possess strong customer service orientation

Preferred Qualifications

Deep experience with Slate is strongly preferred, as the primary focus of this role involves the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of the Slate admissions platform.
