The Water and Industrial Infrastructure Division of SGH’s Engineering Mechanics and Infrastructure (EMI) group provides structural and soil-structure interaction engineering services with emphasis on investigation, analysis, repair, and rehabilitation of hydraulic infrastructure. Our work includes structural analysis, design, and preparation of drawings and specifications for buried and other infrastructure including pipelines, tanks, nuclear facilities, dams and hydroelectric facilities, culverts, and other specialty structures and components. We also conduct field work to investigate structural failures, monitor construction conformance, and support research projects.

Essential duties include:

Structural analysis and design, including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.

Conducting field investigations and inspections, monitoring construction, and writing inspection reports.

Planning and monitoring laboratory investigations.

Assisting with client communication regarding specific assignments or meetings.

Qualifications include:

MS in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.

Engineer-in-training (EIT) registration or the ability to obtain within 1 year.

0-2 years of professional experience, preferably with field inspections and contractor compliance monitoring.

Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Willingness to travel 30-50% or more for field inspections.

Ability to work in confined spaces and travel by plane and car.

Valid US driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
