About the Role:
We are a General Contractor based in Santa Clara, CA, specializing in healthcare and higher education construction across California and Arizona. We’re looking for a motivated and team-oriented Project Engineer who is eager to grow personally and professionally in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to help ensure each project runs smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. If you’re proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to learn, this could be a great fit for you!
Key Objectives
Support efficient, safe, and high-quality project execution.
Collaborate with both office and field teams.
Assist Project Managers and Superintendents throughout construction phases.
Responsibilities Act as a key team member, contributing to project success every day.
Support all aspects of project coordination and documentation.
Review and update plans from initial design through final as-builts.
Communicate with clients, architects, consultants, and field staff to resolve design or spec issues.
Assist with permit applications and coordination with local agencies.
Track and upload project photos and maintain accurate project logs (RFIs, submittals, punch lists, etc.).
Assist with writing and managing RFIs, change orders, and project submittals.
Maintain and update drawing sets with revisions and changes.
Help prepare for and attend project meetings (virtual and in-person), capturing meeting minutes and action items.
Support project schedule tracking and monthly billing processes.
Assist with bidding and closeout documentation.
Follow established file organization procedures.
Communicate schedule updates to the team and subcontractors.
Bring a positive, growth-oriented attitude to the team.
Required Qualifications Authorized to work in the U.S.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management,
Civil/Mechanical/Electrical
Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of experience in the construction industry.
Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Office.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for site visits.
Self-starter with willingness to take initiative and adapt as needed.
Open to learning and sharing knowledge with others.
Qualifications EIT (Engineer in Training) certification.
Bilingual (Spanish or other ).
