Position Type: Full-time, on-site

Location: Knoxville, TN

Base Hourly Range: DOE

Shift Availability: Monday thru Thursday (4 x 10-hour Shift) 5:00pm - 3:30am Overtime as needed

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist who will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, and other shop equipment to support both production and engineering operations in a low-volume, high-mix environment. The role involves blueprint interpretation, machine maintenance, and contributing to quality and safety standards across the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities: Set up, operating advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts. Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new products or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspection Ability to read blueprints and G-Code with ease. Hands-on knowledge of machining processes: turning, milling, drilling, and threading. Comfortable working to tight tolerances and producing high-spec parts from detailed technical drawings. Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) and their proper care and calibration.

Basic Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of 6+ years' experience as a CNC Machinist with mill and lathe experience. Capable of calculating dimensions and tolerances using mathematical principles and precision instruments such as micrometers and callipers. Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance Competent with hand tools and demonstrates strong basic mechanical aptitude. Able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Experience with reading and understanding G & M codes Have a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT) Have experience in job setup on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and CNC turning centers Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees. Proficiency in working with multiple materials to produce high-tolerance complex components/parts. Ability to perform physically demanding work including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Solid math and computer skills.
