Our Client, a Commercial Banking company, is looking for an Infrastructure Architect for their Chicago, IL/ Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of Intermediate and Senior Infrastructure Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Develop and maintain the infrastructure roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and emerging technologies. Oversee the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of infrastructure services, including data centers, cloud platforms, virtualization, storage systems, and automation tools. Provide architectural leadership for the design and operation of colocation Equinix data centers, including capacity planning, disaster recovery strategies, and service continuity plans. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Application Operations, IT Asset Management, End User Technologies, etc, to ensure infrastructure solutions meet application and business requirements. Drive the adoption of cloud technologies, such as Azure and AVS, and lead the integration of hybrid cloud solutions into the infrastructure strategy. Oversee the automation of infrastructure processes using tools like Ansible and Terraform, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort. Ensure compliance with security standards, data privacy regulations, and disaster recovery policies. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance infrastructure capabilities and support business growth. Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership and guidance to stakeholders across the organization. Develop and maintain documentation, including roadmaps, design documents, operational guides, and runbooks, to ensure clarity and consistency across the team.
Requirements:
Infrastructure architecture, design, and management, with a focus on data centers, cloud platforms, and automation. 10+ years Mentoring technical teams, including Intermediate and Senior Engineers 5 years Cloud technologies, including Azure VMware Solution (AVS), native Azure, Azure DevOps and hybrid cloud solutions 5 years VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, VCF, VxRail, NSX-T, HCX, vSAN, Horizon, and VDI 5 years Active Directory administration, group policies, and security management. Managing the roadmap and lifecycle of server-based images (Windows and Linux RHEL), hardening, patching, and compliance. EMC/DELL storage systems, data storage optimization, and Commvault/Rubrik backup/recovery strategies. Physical server technologies, server virtualization, and related hardware components. Disaster recovery, backup and restore, and service continuity strategies and plans. Designing and managing colocation data centers, such as Equinix, including capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., VMware, Microsoft, EMC) Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification (required by October 31, 2025) AI Fundamentals (AI-900) certification (an asset) Automation tools like Ansible and Terraorm, with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing manual effort. Engineering of SQL design/solution/implementation, and support. Exchange server and SMTP relay services.
