Qualifications
Minimum of one year of healthcare training and/or staff coordinator experience in acute or long-term care, including supervisory experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Administrative and organizational abilities.
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Follow NHPPD staffing audit guidelines and report to the Administrator and Director of Nursing if staffing levels fall below the minimums of 2.4 nursing hours per resident day and 3.5 total nursing hours per resident day.
Ensure adequate staffing of the nursing department based on budget, census, and directives from the facility Administrator.
Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism logs.
Report excessive tardiness or absenteeism to the Director of Nursing according to facility policy.
Complete and coordinate monthly nursing schedules to ensure proper coverage for all units and staff.
Assist employees with completing relevant forms such as leave requests, time cards, etc.
Respond to staffing and scheduling inquiries and prepare necessary correspondence.
Consult with nursing staff and supervisors to address staffing issues and improve service quality.
Carry out administrative functions efficiently to support facility operations.
Review and address complaints and grievances related to staffing.
Participate in daily rounds to verify residents are receiving proper care, including repositioning, hygiene, and assistance with call lights and dining.
Assist in auditing CNA documentation daily.
Attend facility committee meetings (e.g., safety, recruitment, retention) as required.
Maintain records of current certifications and licenses for nursing staff.
Participate in scheduled in-service training programs.
Assist with recordkeeping for staff education and orientation for new hires.
Follow safety procedures when operating office equipment and report hazards immediately.
Report any suspected incidents of fraud or abuse, including false billing, kickbacks, etc.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report any breaches.
Uphold residents' rights to fair treatment, privacy, and self-determination.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet facility needs.
