2025-2026 Paraprofessional for The Constellations Program

Crescent City Schools is seeking a full-time, well-qualified Paraprofessional. Duties include supporting students with disabilities in the classroom, delivering instruction individually or in small groups, collecting data, supporting students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs, and participating actively in school life. The Constellations Program’s paraprofessional will report to the Principal of the Constellation Program.
Our Special Education Paraprofessionals impact students’ lives by:
Maintaining the safety and promoting the development of students with disabilities
Establishing high expectations and supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
Collaborating closely with classroom teachers to deliver instruction and support whole-class activities for over 50% of the day
Participating in meetings with parents, teachers, and school leadership
Working with therapists, evaluators, and teachers to support student development
Developing educational materials, learning communication techniques, and using student devices
Implementing de-escalation techniques after CPI training
Utilizing positive behavioral interventions post-training to support behavioral needs
Accurately collecting behavioral and academic data as instructed
Engaging in school activities and events
Tracking student behavioral and academic progress
Performing other tasks as needed

Have an Associate’s degree, two years of college, or are Highly Qualified as a paraprofessional
Have successful experience working with children with moderate to severe disabilities
Desire to be a founding team member of a special education school
Knowledge of social-emotional and behavioral interventions is a plus
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
Registered Behavior Technician certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, run, walk, speak, hear, kneel, crouch, operate equipment, reach, and lift up to 100 pounds
Must perform Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques and react quickly during crises
This is an in-person role
