Opportunity Overview:
The Dispute Resolution Specialist at
Hoosier Hills Credit Union (HHCU)
plays a critical role in enterprise-wide risk management and serves as a lead resource in fraud prevention, detection, mitigation, and recovery across all member service channels. This role is responsible for following established guidelines to identify and resolve disputes and suspected fraud, escalating complex issues when necessary, and contributing to the improvement of fraud prevention processes.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HHCU's products and services, along with strong awareness of social media, consumer behavior, public services, and industry payment channels.
What You'll Do:
Assist members with fraud and merchant dispute cases related to
Debit/Credit Cards and ACH . Apply regulations and industry standards, including
Reg E, Reg Z, VISA, and NACHA . Investigate, document, and resolve fraud cases efficiently and professionally. Identify fraud patterns and recommend preventative measures. Collaborate with internal teams and serve as a subject matter expert. Manage complex claims independently and maintain detailed case records. Provide backup for
Currency Transaction Report (CTR)
filings. Contribute to the continuous improvement of fraud prevention workflows.
What We're Looking For:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred. 1+ year of experience in fraud or dispute resolution (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong working knowledge of
Reg E, Reg Z , and card/ACH dispute protocols. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to manage high volumes while maintaining accuracy. Proficiency with digital tools and case management systems. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to team success.
