Boiler Operator II Job Summary
The Boiler Operator II is a key position responsible for proficient maintenance and operation of HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing, and safety inspections. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, and inspecting boiler steam, condensate systems, chiller systems, booster pumps, tube stations, elevators, as well as serving as the primary contact for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Possess proficient communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
- Develop proficient skills necessary to find solutions to equipment malfunctions and initiate necessary repairs.
- Cultivate proficient knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties.
- Acquire proficient knowledge to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs to building equipment and structure.
- Foster proficient knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems, and building repairs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills for the repair and general maintenance of facilities in the following areas:
- Plumbing and fixtures
- Electrical wiring, devices, lighting, and motors
- Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and cooling towers
- Steam and boilers
- Pressure vessels and associated equipment
- Generators
- Medical gas and vacuum
- Refrigeration units and ice machines
- Air compressors and refrigerated air dryers
- Air handlers, fans, and heat wheels
- Chilled water and condenser pumps
