We currently have two Law and Motion positions to add to our growing team of six lawyers in Los Angeles, California. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates eager to take ownership of his/her own cases and who is not afraid of gaining trial experience. Unlike other firms, we pride ourselves on taking our cases from intake and up and through to trial, if necessary, which provides our employees and candidates the perfect opportunities to gain extensive pre-trail, trial, litigation, appeal, and negotiation experience.
We are looking for an experienced law and motion associate attorney to join our team of personal injury litigators in Los Angeles, CA. A successful candidate is experienced in personal injury / civil litigation matters. We are looking for someone with experience in drafting motions to compel and oppositions related thereto, oppositions to motions for summary judgment, motions in limine and oppositions related thereto, etc. on a broad variety of topics related to personal injury law, insurance bad faith, business litigation. The ideal candidate is ready to hit the ground running. This position is not suitable for first or second year attorneys. The candidate should be comfortable handling all aspects of litigation drafting from pre-litigation filings and discovery to mediations, arbitrations, and including jury trials motions, if necessary. Our attorneys are always supported by an excellent staff of paralegals and legal assistants to ensure that a positive work environment keeps all employees working as a team.
Candidates for this position may be regular full-time or participate in our part time hourly attorney program. Part time hourly attorneys are still part of a litigation team, participate in the firm's education program, and receive the same amount of support they would if they were working full-time. Most importantly, hourly attorneys receive the same caliber of interesting and meaningful casework their successful track record deserves.
Heidari Law Group, PC, also offers attorneys the option to work remotely for the right candidate. Must be licensed to practice law in California and be in good standing with California Bar Association.
QUALIFICATIONS:
JD from an ABA approved school
Must be licensed in CA
2+ years of solid law and motion experience, specifically with law and motion in business and Injury litigation
Experience working as a plaintiff attorney preferred
Experience with case/time management systems such as Clio
Proficiency in MS Suite, Adobe Pro, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Employment law experience is a plus, though not necessary.
Federal Court trial experience is a plus.
Drafting complaints ranging from basic motor vehicle accidents to complex premises, assault cases, and bad faith .
Personal injury, insurance bad faith , business litigation experience
Employment law experience is a plus, though not necessary.
Strong familiarity with legal research, including Shephardizing and/or KeyCiting law for law and motion purposes.
Federal Court litigation not necessary, but welcome. We will teach you
Law and Motion Research and drafting of Motions and Oppositions to various motion types, including but not limited to Motions for Summary Judgment and Demurrers, as well as Discovery-related Motions.
Trial Preparation, including Motions in Limine and Special Verdict Forms, Jury Instructions, and any other related tasks to support the firm in preparation for Trial.
Propounding discovery and responding to discovery
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS
Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
Nevada State Bar (NV Bar) licensure is a plus, but not required.
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
Strong time management skills, including prioritization of cases and adhering to deadlines, internal or those imposed by the Court.
Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, time management, and project management skills in handling the caseloads required of the position.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment with other lawyers and paralegals
Fully Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
