As we prepare for our grand opening, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Scrub Technologist to join our team and play a vital role in our surgical procedures.

*Job Summary:* The Surgical Scrub Technologist at Henry's Fork Surgery Center will be an integral member of the surgical team, working directly with the surgeon to ensure a sterile field and provide necessary instruments and supplies during ophthalmic procedures. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to patient safety and surgical efficiency.

*Key Responsibilities:* * Prepare the operating room with necessary sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure. * Perform surgical counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse according to policy. * Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and available for use.

*Intra-operative Assistance:* * Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure, adhering to strict aseptic techniques. * Anticipate the surgeon's needs by passing instruments and supplies efficiently and accurately. * Prepare and handle medications and solutions on the sterile field as directed by the surgeon or circulating nurse. * Assist with patient positioning, draping, and maintaining patient privacy. * Manage and care for surgical specimens.

*Post-operative Responsibilities:* * Assist with the clean-up of the operating room following each procedure. * Properly dispose of contaminated materials and prepare instruments for sterilization. * Restock supplies as needed to ensure readiness for subsequent cases.

*Patient Safety & Quality:* * Adhere to all ASC policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as AORN and other relevant guidelines. * Report any breaches of sterile technique or potential safety concerns immediately. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a strong focus on patient safety.

*Collaboration & Communication:* * Communicate effectively and professionally with the surgeon, circulating nurse, anesthesiologist, and other surgical team members. * Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

*Qualifications:* * *Education:* Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. * *Certification:* Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required. * *Experience:* * Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Technologist, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or acute care hospital setting. * *Prior experience in ophthalmic surgery is highly preferred.*

*Skills:* * Expertise in aseptic technique and sterile processing. * Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment, particularly in ophthalmology. * Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. * Ability to anticipate needs and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. * Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. * Strong communication and teamwork abilities. * *BLS certification* required.

*Preferred Qualifications:* * Experience with various ophthalmic surgical procedures (e.g., cataract, glaucoma, retina).
