Compensation Range: $91,083.00 - $113,853.00

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support a recently awarded New Product Introduction (NPI) program. This role is critical to ensure product quality and compliance from concept through production, with a strong emphasis on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) in accordance with AS9145, and First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102.

Job Responsibilities

Quality Planning & Risk Management

Lead and support APQP activities throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with AS9145 requirements.

Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and PFMEAs.

Facilitate PPAP submissions and approvals for new and modified products.

Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies during design and process development.

Design & Development Support

Participate in design reviews to ensure quality requirements are integrated early.

Plan and execute First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102.

Support qualification and validation activities including process capability studies and test method validation.

Ensure compliance with AS9100, AS9145, AS9102, and other applicable aerospace standards and customer requirements.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain comprehensive documentation of APQP/PPAP, FAI, audit findings, nonconformance records, and corrective actions.

Prepare and present quality metrics, risk assessments, and improvement plans to stakeholders.

Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers

Corrective Action Leadership

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action responses for internal non-conformances and customer complaints.

Utilize structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) to drive effective resolution.

Ensure timely closure of corrective actions and verification of effectiveness.

Communicate findings and resolutions to internal stakeholders and customers.

Auditing & Compliance

Plan and conduct process, product, and system audits to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external standards.

Identify gaps and drive corrective actions to improve audit outcomes.

Support external audits and customer/government assessments as needed.

Nonconformance Management & Delivery Oversight

Disposition nonconforming product in accordance with internal procedures and customer/government requirements.

Coordinate with internal teams, customers, and government representatives to facilitate product delivery and acceptance.

Ensure all quality documentation and approvals are in place prior to shipment.

Continuous Improvement

Analyze quality data and customer feedback to identify trends and drive corrective/preventive actions.

Lead initiatives to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

3+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in aerospace or a regulated industry.

Experience with APQP and PPAP processes, with working knowledge of AS9145.

Hands‑on experience performing and reviewing First Article Inspections per AS9102.

Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, MSA, and root cause analysis methodologies.

Understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace quality standards.

Strong skills with MS Office, especially Excel and Word.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

Experienced with GD&T and reading and understanding engineering drawing and specifications.

Willingness to periodically work weekends.

US Citizen per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering or related field.

Quality Accreditation (e.g. ASQ CQE).

Demonstrated ability to lead corrective action processes and communicate effectively with customers.

Experience conducting process, product, and system audits.

Experience with nonconformance disposition and product delivery coordination under customer/government oversight.

Familiarity with quality software tools such as Minitab, Net-Inspect, TipQA, etc.

Lean and Continuous Improvement skills / 6 Sigma background
