What’s the Job Ready to move your career forward? As a Technician II at Penske, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the newest and best‑maintained fleet of trucks and trailers. You’ll work independently, diagnose problems through road tests, and mentor newer technicians while you grow your own skills.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner
Repair and troubleshoot components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
Keep your work area clean and safe
Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training
Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
Specialized training and experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
Experience using tools of the trade (diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools)
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to solve problems
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Team‑player
Willingness to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions
Basic computer skills
Compliance with Penske management guidelines, DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies
Regular, predictable, full attendance essential
Driver qualification file maintenance and DOT regulation compliance (including MVR, DOT Physical, Safety Performance History, drug screening for CDL holders, FMCSA Clearinghouse review)
Willingness to travel within district, attend training sites, submit to background and drug screening
Physical Requirements
Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, sit for extended periods
Use hands repeatedly to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate tools or controls
Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
Work safely in all weather conditions
See and hear to navigate the work environment
Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
Pay $32.52/hr or $67,641/yr
Schedule Pending. Highly preferred to have CDL A or CDL B. Associate must obtain at least one (1) ASE Medium‑Heavy Truck certification (Hawaii ASE “T‑Series”) within first 90 days of employment.
