About the Role The Manager, Plant Operational Excellence is accountable for implementing Operational Excellence as a way of working within the plant, including the Operating System, Management Infrastructure, Mindsets, Behaviors & Capabilities, and Industry 4.0. Activities include leading cross‑functional Opex teams, driving daily issue resolution, and improving performance across all key metrics on the site scorecard.
Responsibilities
Lead & coach OPEX teams to drive improvements across the Balance Scorecard; lead Kaizen events to reduce losses.
Conduct diagnostics on the Operating System (OS), Management Infrastructure (MI), Mindset, Behaviors & Capabilities (MBC), and Industry 4.0 for identified systems/lines through data analysis, floor observations, process monitoring, and employee interviews.
Coach OPEX team to develop and adhere to tactical implementation plans (TIPs), ensuring stakeholder check‑ins and program sustainability.
Build OPEX capability with site leadership, leveraging pull‑forward strategy and providing training sessions; act as lead trainer for continuous‑improvement tools.
Ensure improvements are captured in the plant enabler program and track OPEX team performance, maintaining countermeasures and executing Zero Loss analysis.
Influence stakeholders and lead through others to effect change across the organization.
Manage and oversee various programs related to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Who You Will Work With
Supply chain functions such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Human Resources, and Logistics.
Plant Managers and Operations Managers, providing influence on site direction.
Required Qualifications
High School Degree or GED.
2 years’ experience with Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma fundamentals.
2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
1 year people‑management experience.
Demonstrated success in driving change and influencing stakeholders at all levels without direct authority.
Strong track record of collaborating with cross‑functional teams and driving operational excellence initiatives.
Proven ability to analyze complex data sets to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SAP.
Excellent leadership, compelling communication, and ability to inspire, engage, and motivate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Cross‑functional manufacturing experience with OPEX, Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Visual Factory, 5S.
Continuous Improvement certifications such as Lean or Lean Six Sigma.
Experience with leading/executing the elements of Operational Excellence and organizational learning and development.
Working knowledge of Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, Asset Care & Reliability.
Knowledge and prior experience in improving organizational capability through learning and development programs, and/or High‑Performance Work Systems.
