Job Description This job is responsible for leading and executing on internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). Key responsibilities include executing LOB or ECF processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. Job expectations include supporting the implementation of quality assurance and quality control processes within the LOB or ECF through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation, and building out actions plans and milestones.
The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Business Control Manager will join the senior management team and will champion the execution and support of the Wealth Management Financial Crimes program. This role will partner with business leaders, client facing teams, operations owners, risk and control partners, and technology executives to deliver integrated, data-driven solutions.
Ideal candidates will be able to translate complex business problems and regulatory requirements into execution delivery and process transformation. Additionally, the candidate must be able to communicate effectively to various levels of management, including Wealth Management executives, risk leaders, auditors and regulators. Driving a culture of compliance and operational excellence are a must.
Responsibilities
Leads the assessment of the design and effectiveness of the risk and control environment to support Client Operational Services and ensure adherence to enterprise-wide standards
Performs monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation
Leads the implementation of optimized controls and enhanced Quality Assurance (QA) practices to support business continuity efforts
Manages and reviews all operations front line unit responses for regulatory exams, internal audits, and other monitoring and inspection reviews
Ensures accuracy of data and that relevant information is captured for inspection metrics to support governance for dashboard reporting
Develops and maintains expert-level understanding of applicable AML rules, regulations and enterprise policies, as well as Wealth Managements business control environment for AML
Challenges the status quo, finding opportunities to deliver both risk mitigation and operational excellence through development or enhancement of policies and procedures
Demonstrates influence through clear and crisp presentation of analytical results and recommendations to senior management
Coordinates projects and ensures comprehensive process documentation for all initiatives
Effectively relates data to appropriate business context and clearly and appropriately summarizes to audiences, including audit and regulatory bodies
Builds strong partnerships and collaborates effectively with business, risk, and technology partners
Required Skills
4+ years’ experience in AML/KYC and compliance roles
Control focused mindset and ability to distill complex regulatory and reputational risks
Strong executive presence and communication skills (verbal and written)
Highly motivated, proactive and a self-starter; strong sense of ownership & ability to create and execute plans without daily oversight
Possess mature business judgment and be proactive, well organized and results-oriented
Interpersonal skills to lead and participate within a diverse group of constituents which are distributed across functional areas and physical locations
Must have ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional environment
Ability to recognize gaps and execution risks and acumen to devise appropriate remediation plans
Knowledge of financial and banking products, policies, operations and applicable procedures
Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and deal with people with different experiences and backgrounds and be able to get work done.
