About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Senior Property Accountant
to oversee the financial operations of our real estate investment management company, which includes both residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
real estate accounting
and experience with
Yardi or MRI
property management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of property accounting, including
accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting .
Set up and maintain properties
within Yardi (or MRI) and ensure accuracy of financial data across all entities.
Prepare and review
monthly and year‑end financial statements ; coordinate with external accountants for annual tax filings.
Handle
cash management , account reconciliations, and property‑level budgeting.
Oversee all
Human Resources functions
for a 25‑employee team, including
payroll, benefits administration, and annual compensation reviews .
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to ownership, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Real estate accounting experience
(residential and/or commercial)
Proficiency with
Yardi or MRI
property management software
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills
Compensation for this role is based on a wide array of factors including skill set, experience, and location. As required by local law, the salary range for the role is disclosed above. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
