Business Development Manager – Global Regulatory Investigations & Financial Crime (RIFC) Clifford Chance’s Global Regulatory Investigations & Financial Crime (RIFC) group seeks a Business Development Manager based in the Americas to support the firm’s International Legal and Dispute Resolution practice. The role is responsible for partnering with lawyers, developing market‑specific BD plans, driving revenue generation and strengthening the group’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and oversee the development and implementation of business development and marketing plans, ensuring alignment with firm‑wide strategy.

Track progress against plans, evaluate ROI and refine approaches to achieve overarching goals.

Conduct in‑depth research on regional products, market trends, clients, prospects and competitors to inform strategic decisions.

Ensure quality of output and uphold partner expectations.

Support the Americas RIFC group in defining and implementing its BD plan and shape BD product offerings.

Promote Bid and offer RIFC initiatives across the L&D practice and the broader firm.

Spot market trends and opportunities, provide input to significant RIFC pitches and capability statements.

Assist in positioning and raising the profile of the Americas RIFC group; lead organization of client events, seminars, conferences and PR activities.

Oversee marketing communication projects and help distribute thought‑leadership material.

Apply RIFC product knowledge to support firm‑wide client and sector programmes and conduct competitor, client and marketplace analysis.

Collaborate with the Director of Global BD to execute strategic BD projects and support the new BD operating model.

Qualifications

Previous experience in professional services business development, preferably in a law firm.

Strong interest and understanding of the work types relevant to this role.

Sound commercial awareness of legal market development and ability to develop advisory relationships with partners.

Excellent project management, organisational and written communication skills.

Strong oral communication skills and ability to work effectively with lawyers at all seniority levels.

Commitment to quality and attention to detail.

Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

Willigness to work from office at least three days each calendar week (Agile Working Policy).

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary range:

$180,000 – $225,000. Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
