Environmental Supervisor – Chemical Manufacturing (Northeast New Jersey / Lehigh Valley Corridor)

Overview: A leading chemical manufacturing organization in the northeast New Jersey region (commutable from the Lehigh Valley and northwestern NJ corridor) is seeking an experienced Environmental Supervisor to oversee environmental compliance, wastewater treatment, and hazardous waste management programs. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations while fostering a culture of sustainability and continuous improvement. The Environmental Supervisor will provide hands‑on leadership of wastewater operations and compliance activities while coordinating sustainability and waste‑reduction initiatives across the site. Compensation: Competitive base salary plus a small performance bonus, commensurate with experience and certification level. Reports To: EHS Manager Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, including EPA, DEP, RCRA, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act requirements. Oversee wastewater treatment plant operations, ensuring all discharges meet permit and regulatory standards. Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper labeling, storage, handling, and disposal. Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring to maintain full compliance. Maintain and submit required reports and environmental documentation. Develop and deliver training programs for environmental and hazardous waste compliance. Respond to environmental incidents and coordinate corrective actions. Lead sustainability initiatives focused on waste minimization and resource efficiency. Collaborate with site leadership and corporate EHS to drive continuous improvement. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of environmental compliance or wastewater operations experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or municipal setting. Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred. Certifications

N3 Wastewater Treatment Certification Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of wastewater treatment systems and hazardous waste management. In-depth knowledge of EPA, RCRA, Clean Water Act, and related environmental regulations. Excellent documentation, reporting, and analytical skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities. Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance. Regular engagement in plant and wastewater areas. Moderate walking, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs). Exposure to standard industrial and laboratory conditions. Application Process
