Job Summary and Responsibilities

MRI Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. The role includes obtaining patient history and screening forms, explaining routine procedures and addressing patient concerns, maintaining patient records and files, and performing quality assurance on the magnetic resonance scanner.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with radiologist expectations and protocols.
Displays knowledge and complies with national patient safety goals.
Supports and reports any identified compliance matters.
Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
Maintains professional development and education for technical competency.
Uses standard precautions and PPE at all times.
Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for current position.
Attends all CHI Saint Joseph Health required educational programs as well as all Learn modules.
Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes resources efficiently.
Demonstrates complete working knowledge of equipment within the assigned area.
Knows and performs the Code of Conduct standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Required Education for Staff Job Levels Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Education or Experience Previous experience in MRI preferred.
Required Licensure and Certifications
MRAD:KY;
RTR, or RTBD, or RTCT, or RTCV, or RTM, or RTN, or RTQM, or RTT, or RTVI, or RTVS;
BLS-CPR;
RTMR within 12 months.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities None.
