Procurement Engineer
Location: Edwin I Hatch Nuclear Plant near Baxley, GA. Reports to James Love, Hatch Procurement Engineering Supervisor. Responsibilities
Determine and assign technical and quality requirements for parts, materials, and services used at nuclear power plants. Determine functional classification of components. Research design documentation to make determinations. Resolve supplier exceptions to parts requests and other material issues. Perform equivalency determinations for replacement parts. Update plant configuration and supply chain documentation based on completed evaluations. Required Qualifications
ABET‑approved Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical/Nuclear/Electrical/Instrumentation/Industrial); advanced technical or business degree required. PE license preferred but not required. Design, systems, maintenance, or industrial engineering experience at an industrial plant. Supply chain / procurement engineering experience beneficial. Strong teamwork, oral and written communication skills; excellent computer skills and familiarity with electronic database entry. Preferred Qualifications
Strong technical background in engineering support of manufacturing or power plants. Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of critical design characteristics of components and parts. Working knowledge of design basis configuration management. Other Requirements
Job requires after‑hours, on‑call duty. Occasional travel to other nuclear plants and the Birmingham office. Must meet SNC background screening and NRC “Fitness for Duty” requirements. Availability for unscheduled call‑outs; ability to work extended hours when necessary. Benefits Summary
