SUMMARY Mechanic II is responsible for performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on process and utility equipment in support of Tanvex Biopharma USA, Inc.’s GMP manufacturing facility. Testing of facility equipment may be required as well.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform mechanical maintenance activities such as valve rebuilds (diaphragm, ball valves, gate valves, proportional control valves), pump rebuild including seals (positive displacement, peristaltic, and centrifugal pumps), agitator maintenance including seal replacements, motor pump replacement/alignment, heat exchanger repairs.

Troubleshoot and repair WFI stills, clean steam systems, autoclave and HVAC.

Maintain WFI/RODI systems, Clean Steam Systems, HVAC systems, filling systems, and bioreactor systems.

Complete all required GMP documentation in a timely manner, including logbooks and work orders.

Organise and prioritise work and complete it in a timely manner.

SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with writing procedures for maintenance and calibration and assist with the procurement of critical spare parts for all of the GMP systems.

Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum of a High School diploma and 5 years’ experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry or similar setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Good knowledge of utility and facility equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, chiller, pumps & drives, RODI, WFI, and clean steam systems.

Knowledge of mechanical maintenance required for utility systems.

Use of basic hand tools.

Able to read, write and utilise drawings, mathematics, and handbook formulas.

Read mechanical schematics and piping diagrams P&IDs.

Qualify to work in a clean room environment.

Possess basic computer skills.

Ability to communicate both orally and written in a clear manner.

Ability to perform work in the mechanical, pipefitting, or plumbing trades is preferred.

SALARY $85,728 - $105,017
