Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager (MEP)
Base pay range: $85,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr
Location: Chicago, IL
This role is part of MEP STAFF, LLC, the #1 MEP Engineering and Construction Recruitment Firm in the United States. We are working with several Architects and MEP Consulting Firms in/around Chicago and across the country seeking Mechanical Designers, Engineers and Project Managers. Typical projects include healthcare, mission critical, science / technology, educational, government / federal, retail / hospitality and commercial / mixed‑use residential.
What you will do
Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects
Design mechanical systems including calculations of heating and cooling loads while adhering to the firm’s QA/QC process
Select and layout mechanical equipment such as pumps, chiller, fans and boilers
Develop project specifications
Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and/or current projects
Key skills and abilities
Skill in the use of AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Trace and Bluebeam
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Education and experience requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
