Aluminum Welder/Fabricator – PacMar Technologies
PacMar Technologies LLC, a privately‑owned defense contractor, is seeking Aluminum Welders/Fabricators to support maritime platform design and prototyping, power and energy, autonomy and data science, and advanced materials and manufacturing projects. This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Base pay range $30.00/hr – $50.00/hr
General Description We are seeking skilled Aluminum Welders/Fabricators to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in weld preparation, fabrication, fitting, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture aluminum, stainless steel, and steel marine vessels and projects. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform welding operations according to project specifications and welding codes.
Fabricate, fit up, and assemble components for marine vessels, including hulls, decks, machinery, and other components.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
Conduct quality inspections of welded joints to ensure they meet standards for strength and appearance.
Operate or use related equipment and tools including forklifts, slings, grinders, cutting torches, band saws, circular saws, hand tools, drills, and tape measures.
Collaborate with team members, engineers, and project managers to ensure specifications are correct and project goals are met on time and within budget.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
Clean work areas around the yard on a daily and weekly basis.
Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in aluminum welding/fabrication:
For Aluminum Welder/Fabricator 2: Minimum 3 years experience.
For Aluminum Welder/Fabricator 3: Minimum 5 years experience.
Proficiency in Aluminum MIG welding and experience with Aluminum MIG welding machines.
Ability to adjust power and wire‑feed settings for desired weld quality independently.
Experience with power tools and hand tools.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and welding symbols.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements
Maneuvering in tight places, uneven floors.
Climbing up and down ladders, ramps, and stairs.
Standing for long periods of time.
Occasionally requires twisting, turning, bending, climbing, and walking over uneven surfaces.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs continuously.
Lifting objects weighing over 50 lbs with assistance.
Other Position Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S. to obtain security clearance.
Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Must be able to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check and post‑offer drug screen.
Desired Education, Experience & Skills
Proficiency in welding techniques (TIG).
Experience working in a fabrication facility or shipyard within the last 1–2 years.
Experience in the maritime industry.
