Duties and Responsibilities
Installs and configures Client Computing support applications software.
Sets/Manages application parameters for Client Computing Support systems/software.
Administer incident, problem and change management capabilities that maximize analyst productivity and enhance responsiveness.
Plan, test, and implement a production database environment.
Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast query responses to 'front end' users.
Write application documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary.
Obtain regular monitoring and processing reports to check for errors, assess/analyze errors, and distinguish between database, application, and customized application problems.
Troubleshoot technical Client Computing application problems and coordinate resolution with other support groups.
Monitor, coordinate, and install vendor‑provided software patches, security updates, cyclical releases, and major upgrades.
Maintain security compliance in accordance with DoD, PCI, PII, and other compliance requirements.
Apply knowledge of software development lifecycle.
Assess if existing architecture can support business and functional requirements.
Create, design, develop, analyze, test and modify administrative scripts and batch files to automate processes.
Strong analytical skills and effective problem solving.
Excellent written / oral communications and interpersonal skills.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Certifications and Eligibility IA Certification:
Must hold one of the following current certifications: SSCP, GSEC, SCNP, CISA, CISSP, GSE, SCNA (NEXCOM preferred certification is Security).
Technical Certification:
Must hold MCDST or MCTS Windows 7 certification (or equivalent Microsoft certification).
Requirements: Candidates without the required certification may be placed into this job but must obtain the certifications within 6 months of appointment. Failure to obtain proper certification will result in termination of employment.
Position designated IT 2 (Non‑critical Sensitive) requiring favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI).
General Experience 3 years experience in administrative, technical work demonstrating ability and aptitude to perform technical or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems.
Alternatively, one year of related academic study above high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4‑year bachelor's degree in a Business/Information Systems discipline for 3 years general experience.
Specialized Experience 3 years “total” experience in at least one specialized application (e.g., Asset Management, Help Desk Software, Identity Management), developing scripts, front end and utilities that support end‑user applications and run on a relational MS SQL database; experience with web technologies (JavaScript, PHP, IIS, ASP scripting, XML, Visual Basic, HTML); and experience defining and writing MS SQL stored queries and events.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Key technology contributor with a core focus on applying and supporting technology to deliver in‑store business capabilities.
Installs and configures application software, sets/manages application parameters.
Troubleshoots technical application problems and coordinates resolution with other support groups.
Acts as point of contact between application vendors, functional users, database administrators, systems administrators, and Helpdesk for all application functionality and configuration.
Ensures/implements rigorous application of information security/assurance policies, principles, and practices.
