Georgia‑Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) organization is seeking a Category Leader to optimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) across various spend categories. This role will develop the category strategy, manage key drivers of the category spend, and provide priorities to all capability partners to achieve the strategy. The role is based in GP Center in Downtown Atlanta and offers a hybrid schedule of remote and office days.
Our Team SS&P is responsible for strategic category management, sourcing and procurement of critical supplies and materials for 140+ locations across the US. The organization is undergoing a transformation, partnering with business partners and leveraging best practices to build internal capabilities and capture significant savings and efficiency opportunities.
What You Will Do
Set & communicate category vision and strategy to maximize value
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of supply markets, competitors, and product innovations; identify threats and opportunities and use insights to drive strategy
Apply category management processes to all spend categories, including should‑cost analysis
Frame category opportunities with economic thinking and supporting financials; prioritize and execute initiatives aligned with cross‑functional teams
Own and track category spend, suppliers, savings, and strategy adherence
Manage price changes consistent with the category contract strategy
Plan and execute effective negotiation processes with suppliers
Own category supplier management – including supplier pioneering & development, dispute management/resolution, performance management, and risk mitigation
Own category customer relationship management – including GP operations and business partnerships, lead cross‑functional teams, and support cross‑Koch stakeholder alignment
Drive transformation & change management – facilitate implementation of change initiatives within category to improve business performance
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
At least 5 years of experience managing TCO and/or P&L across multiple spend or product categories
Experience developing and executing market processes re: category strategies, competitive bidding/benchmarking, should‑cost/price‑setting analyses
Experience leading cross‑functional teams in a matrixed environment
Ability to travel 10‑25%

Bachelor’s Degree
Advanced Degree or MBA
Category Management experience in Chemicals, Outside or Purchased Finished Goods (OFG), Process Equipment, Construction Engineering Services, and MRO
Experience analyzing procurement/category spend data to form meaningful insights and aid effective business decision making
Proven track record in delivering year‑over‑year cost savings and driving cost‑reduction and transformational change projects
Program Management experience in leading or driving PMO activities or transformational change projects in sourcing & procurement
Prior P&L responsibilities
