Job Description
We are seeking an innovative, highly motivated Senior Scientist to join our Vaccine Discovery team within the Infectious Disease and Vaccines department in West Point, PA. Our mission is to develop and leverage state‑of‑the‑art technologies in virology, immunology, and structural biology to address critical challenges in the development of prophylactics and therapeutics for viral diseases. The team is also dedicated to supporting the life cycle management of our licensed products.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of vaccine candidates and vaccine platforms. Primary responsibilities include constructing viral vectors, creating and optimizing novel vaccines, and developing virology and immune assays. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists with diverse expertise in virology, bacteriology, and immunology to advance vaccines, small‑molecule antivirals, and monoclonal antibody (mAb) candidates.

Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. in Infectious Diseases, Biology, or a related field and relevant experience in pharma, biotech or academic settings.
Required Experience and Skills:
Extensive virology experience and knowledge with a demonstrated record of rigorous, productive research in host‑cell interactions, innate and adaptive immunity, and/or pathogenesis.
Proficiency in molecular and cellular techniques.
Keen awareness and demonstrated application of emerging biology and new technologies.
Solid computer skills, independent experimental design and execution, and analytical problem‑solving capabilities.
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Postdoctoral training in virology.
Previous experience working with herpesviruses and/or respiratory viruses.
Knowledge of in vivo disease models, biomarker discovery, and assay development as they relate to infectious diseases and immune responses.
Knowledge of drug discovery and translational research.
Location and Work Arrangement Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office‐based positions in the U.S. will be working a hybrid model consisting of three on‑site days per week (Monday‑Thursday) and one remote day (Friday), unless business critical tasks require an on‑site presence. Field‑based and manufacturing‑based positions, and any role that the company determines cannot be reasonably met remotely, are exempt from this model.
Domestic relocation is available. No visa sponsorship is offered.
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $114,700.00 – $180,500.00. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive where applicable.
