The Interim HR Consultant will implement process improvements across multiple areas, including compliance, benefits, onboarding, and performance management. This consultant will also provide guidance on union and multi‑state employment practices, optimize HR technology systems, and help shape long‑term HR strategy. This role blends strategy and hands‑on execution—ideal for an experienced HR leader who thrives in dynamic, relationship‑driven environments.
Worksite Location: Hybrid – St. Paul, MN.
Salary Range: Hourly rate between $70–$80, DOE.

Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive HR assessment and provide recommendations for optimizing policies, processes, and structure
Lead day‑to‑day HR operations, including compliance, benefits, onboarding, and employee relations
Guide leadership in developing and implementing a consistent performance management framework
Support HR technology optimization within the HRIS system and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency
Advise on compensation structure, union relations, and multi‑state employment compliance
Refresh and update the employee handbook, onboarding materials, and HR communications
Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement, retention, and leadership development
Partner with senior leadership to shape HR strategy aligned with organizational growth goals
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of progressive HR experience, including strategic and operational HR leadership
Experience supporting unionized workforces and multi‑state field teams, ideally within construction or similar industries
Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
HRIS expertise
Demonstrated success driving process improvements and implementing HR infrastructure in growing organizations
Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills
Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution ability and a collaborative, consultative style
