Senior Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Engineer
We are seeking a
Senior Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Engineer
to lead the design and execution of multidisciplinary projects across the Oil & Gas and Utility sectors. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role focused on delivering safe, reliable, and innovative engineering solutions from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering
Lead the development and review of complete electrical design packages, including one‑line diagrams, grounding and lighting layouts, conduit/raceway routing, and power distribution plans.
Select, specify, and review major electrical equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, UPS systems, and distribution panels.
Perform and oversee electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination) using ETAP or SKM.
Validate and review key calculations (cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit sizing/fill, short circuit levels).
Review vendor submittals, BOMs, and provide procurement support.
Mentor junior engineers and designers, ensuring technical quality and consistency across deliverables.
Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
Oversee the preparation of complete I&C design packages, including instrument location plans, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control panel designs.
Review and develop control philosophies, cause & effect matrices, and instrument datasheets.
Specify and validate PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, and control network architectures (Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP).
Guide the design of panels, wiring diagrams, and network layouts in collaboration with process and mechanical teams.
Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and field integration activities.
Provide mentorship in control system design and implementation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
10+ years of experience in Electrical and I&C design within the Oil & Gas, Utility, or Industrial sectors.
Proficiency with design and analysis tools such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or SPI (Intools).
Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (IEEE, NFPA, IEC, API, NEC).
Excellent communication, coordination, and mentoring skills.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng / PE) license preferred.
