The Manager of Lynx Basketball Operations will serve as the primary day-to-day contact for all Lynx basketball operations efforts both in-season and off-season. This individual will work on the day-to-day operations, strategies, and objectives of the department. Essential Functions

Coordinate all logistics related to players in market – player arrivals and departures, housing, vehicles, and any player related needs Budget matters: Draft basketball operations budget each year end and manage budget throughout the year per monthly breakout totals Provide overall financial support including but not limited to submitting expense reports, tracking invoices, and all other financially related documents Oversee all travel logistics in-season and off-season including flights, hotels, buses, etc. for both team and non-team related travel Serve as liaison to Business staff by attending weekly Lynx Manager Meeting. Assist with scheduling of team events with various departments. Serve as the liaison between MN Lynx and other WNBA teams to coordinate home and road practice/shoot-around schedules. Set up facilities for Lynx and visiting team practices, shoot-around and games. Perform administrative tasks including but not limited to monitoring compliance of worker's compensation claims, tracking vacation time and coordinating external correspondence (mailings). Other administrative tasks will include: setting up department meetings, sending calendar requests, preparing meeting agendas, scheduling appointments and completing all filing for the department. Work with Community Impact to establish in-season coach and player appearances. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other

Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is strongly preferred. Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work well on a team and independently. Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision. Experience

Three to five years of experience in team operations, logistics coordination, or sports administration, preferably within a professional or collegiate athletics environment. Experience working directly with players, coaches, and front office staff is highly preferred. Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, athletic administration or related field, or equivalent experience preferred. Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment

The position operates in a professional sports arena and is required to work all Lynx games (home and away), in addition to external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. The working environment is generally favorable. This role will be regularly exposed to crowd noise, bright lighting, and frequent movement throughout arenas. Extended periods of standing, walking, and monitoring team-related activity may be required. Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Travel

Position will require travel. Benefits & Compensation

Compensation: The base salary for this exempt role will be: $85,000-$100,000.
