Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $100,000 to $120,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze cost of goods sold and investigate variances to support accurate reporting.
Prepare standard cost reports and compare actual costs against established standards.
Track and report on cost accounting data, including product costing and journal entries.
Reconcile inventory counts with accounting records and investigate discrepancies.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
Requirements
Lead efforts to automate inventory management and cost tracking using an ERP system.
Monitor direct labor, overhead, and manufacturing costs to ensure accurate allocation.
Perform inventory KPI analysis and estimate reserves for obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
Interpret accounting rules and ensure compliance with US GAAP in all cost-related activities.
Develop cost reduction strategies and support pricing optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Possess a CPA or CMA certification, or be actively working toward one.
3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Show experience in CPG or food manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
